Our Community Spotlight features Monthly interviews with your favorite gamers and some of the biggest names in gaming.
With Destiny 2 just around the corner, we decided to feature one of the most informative YouTubers in FreekNation for all things Destiny related, xHOUNDISHx. If you are trying to stay up to date on recent announcements from Bungie, or the latest gameplay changes from Destiny to Destiny 2, xHOUNDISHx consistently releases videos and content to prepare FreekNation for the newest chapter in the Destiny universe. There are few gamers more prepared for Destiny 2, and with his record of high-quality content and dedication to the work that he does, you can expect to see even more great things from xHOUNDISHx once the game finally releases on September 6! Without further ado, check out our community spotlight to get to know this Destiny guru a little better!
Q: Is there a story behind the name Houndish? How did you come up with it?
A: The name choice was really a flash decision, almost a fluke. I wanted something that sounded kind of wolf-like and Houndish just seemed to stick!
Q: What made you decide to make the jump from simply playing video games, to making videos?
A: I studied audio and video at college but I am also very passionate about video games. I decided to pick up a capture card and started making montages. I really love the combination of my interests and hobbies which go into content creation.
Q: Do you have a favorite moment from Destiny? Clearing a certain raid for the first time or a really intense PVP match?
A: The most memorable moment for me would have to be going flawless in Trials of Osiris for the first time. I was lucky enough to get to The Lighthouse on the first day and it was such a mysterious, memorable moment in the first game.
Q: What are you most excited about in Destiny 2?
A: Having the new story and worlds to explore will be awesome. I also look forward to PvP and the new raid launching. There’s nothing quite like the launch day for a new raid and that’s even more exciting with Destiny 2!
Q: What class will you be leveling up first in D2?
A: I’m a huge fan of all the classes but I’ve been a Titan main since 2014. There’s something about their warrior like nature, high speed and devastating power that just rounds out that ‘Space Soldier’ fantasy.
Q: Aside from Destiny 2, what are some your favorite games that have come out (or are coming out) in 2017?
A: I dabble in all kinds of shooter games. Overwatch has been a staple when I’m not consumed by Destiny. I have also enjoyed Lawbreakers recently and look forward to seeing how Call of Duty evolves with the new game this year!
Q: What advice might you have for someone who wants to start their own YouTube channel or turn gaming into a career?
A: I would say that enjoying gaming or content creation has to come first. You need to have that raw passion for what you do but you should manage your time and focus on your goals. Make sure your audience and supporters come first and try to build a strong relationship. A career in gaming can be tough but if you persevere, it can be very rewarding!
Q: What’s your favorite KontrolFreek setup? (Thumbsticks, grips, shield, etc.)
A: I have been using the FPS Freek signature thumbsticks for a while now and I really love how they feel on my Xbox controller. The Destiny 2 thumbsticks are also really comfortable to use but I also really like the PS4 grips since when I switched to Playstation I was used to the XB1 controller which is a bit bulkier
